American dream

This is an essay i wrote for English class

American Dream

Many people have a dream.  This could be things that they want to accomplish in their lives or tings that they so desperately want that they will do anything to get them.  The latter isn’t as extreme as I make it out to be usually, but it can be in some cases.  My dream is to own my own restaurant.

My dream is definitely not easy to achieve.  I will probably have to go to a fancy culinary academy in the city.  I’ll probably go to the C.I.A. (Culinary Institute of America) to get good training.  Then I’ll have to find a job as a sous chef or something small to start off.  Then ill have to work my way up to head chef in someone’s restaurant.  I’ll have to build up my wealth because a restaurant is an expensive thing to build and maintain.  I hope that my dream restaurant will be located in Hilton Head, SC because that place is a huge tourist trap with a lot of people that have money.  Then I could live on the beach, happily, for the rest of my life.

There will be things that want to come and take my dream away from the though.  These things are called temporary desires.  It is possible that I will be too lazy to work hard in school to learn everything that I need to learn to know all the recipes and whatnot.  Also I am a big procrastinator, so when it comes time to make a menu, I will what to put it off over and over again.  I do hope that these things never happen to me.

In conclusion I believe that the American dream is not far from reach, but you cant give in and keep trying until you can do it.  If you trust in your own abilty anything is possible.
